Candidate Identification

  • Screen all potential applicants
  • Carry out face to face interviews
  • Develop a short list (usually 3 or 4 candidates)
  • Initial background checks
  • Report preparation (candidate profile and interview report)
  • Presentation of short list to client and review
  • Arrange client interviews
  • Psychometric testing if required. This is outsourced
  • Assist in candidate selection
  • Detailed reference checks
  • Employment contract negotiation if required

Communication

Throughout the process we expect to keep clients informed of progress and we may submit details of a candidate in advance to sense check that we are on the right track.  One of our qualified consultants takes the lead role in managing the assignment and all communications with the client.


Timing

From the time of formal engagement we expect to deliver the short list within 6 weeks depending on the complexity of the search and holiday periods.  If the first short list is unsatisfactory we will fine-tune the search until the right candidate has been identified. A shorter timescale may be manageable but never at the expense of quality.


Confidentiality

We do not normally reveal the client’s identity to candidates until client interviews are agreed.  At this point the short-listed candidates are kept in  the loop so that they can do their own research before meeting the client.


The Client’s Interview Process

A successful search thrives on momentum and we try to encourage a client interview process which is dynamic and purposeful with feed back through us, ensuring that promising candidates do not lose interest.


Engagement

Our terms of engagement are set out in a Fees & Terms schedule which when finally agreed and signed becomes the contract between MSC and the client for a specific assignment or with special terms for a “preferred service provider” contract.
