REGIONAL DIRECTOR – FINANCE AND OPERATIONS (REF. MSC120)
World renowned Fortune 500 MNC seeks to hire a high flying financial executive to fill their Regional Director – Finance and Operations role for South Asia Pacific. Reporting to the VP, the incumbent acts as the principle financial officer to oversee financial activities of the region that would include formulation of financial strategies and undertaking activities that would support business growth in the region.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaming with the country and APAC finance team to formulate and implement strategies as to support and achieve target growth of business operations in the region
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of full spectrum of financial and accounting activities, that includes preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated accounts (in accordance with US GAAP) and of the group management reporting packages. Primary responsibility for timeous completion of statutory audits
  • Formulate and implement clear and practical policies and procedures as to establish effective internal control environment exists in all business units. Interact with Group Internal Audit, including implementation of suggested improvements to avoid any significant events indicating failure of internal control
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for individual business units to comprehensive performance analysis. Identify performance improvement tasks and strategies in conjunction with Country Management, implement and monitor success of such to achieve country profitability targets
  • Stipulate effective forecasting and budgeting, improve forecasting methodology, systems and processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy of forecasts
  • Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure working capital management is integrated into day-to-day business activities; set up systems and processes to monitor cash flow management effectiveness to secure success of cash flow forecasts
  • Oversee statutory compliance of all aspects of Corporate Secretarial activities of all legal entities in the region
  • Limit foreign exchange transaction losses through managing foreign exchange exposure in conjunction with the country and the APAC finance team
  • Ensure tax compliance and statutory obligations are met through overseeing management of tax matters, undertaking tax planning and tax return’s filing
  • Participation in acquisition activities: assessing feasibility, structuring the acquisition, negotiations, overseeing legal and financial due diligence, reviewing agreements in coordination with lawyers & assisting with integration of the acquisition to ensure timely completion and smooth integration of the acquisition
  • Optimize inventory through ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of logistics teams and processes; work in conjunction with Country MDs and Finance Heads for smooth logistics processes
  • Secure delivery of key KPIs for each key team member in area of responsibility through effective leadership and development of the Finance, Human Resource and Logistics Teams
  • Streamline efficiency and effectiveness of business processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Provide key support to the VP and deputize in his absence to ensure smooth operations at all time

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A CPA or equivalent with 15 years+ post qualification experience
  • Strong in both process and people skills
  • Good communications skills and leadership qualities
  • A positive can-do attitude with the ability to think laterally
  • Strong analytical bend of mind
