BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, BEIJING BASED (REF. MSC111)
World renowned brand seeks to hire exceptional business professional to spearhead growth and market development in China through effective market penetration strategy. The incumbent will take lead in formulating, implementing and follow through of key market development incentives, projects and programs on a national level as to attain a competitive advantage and market presence.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish market development aims and target, formulate and implement strategy and plans in line with the Corporate Office directions
  • Identify target market(s), sectors and niches; stay current on trends as to serve as evangelist amongst the company; customize programs for local customers; identify business opportunities and brand development
  • Identify and develop key partnerships and business relationships for aspiring market potential
  • Market intelligence research on ever changing market trends, business opportunities as well as brand development; maintain open-end communication and liaison with the Corporate office
  • Relationship cultivation and expansion with government representatives and customers alike in support of the corporate strategy
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Provide expertise to international offices on local market scene in maximizing growth opportunities while at the same time minimizing business risks
  • Act as an integral leadership role representing the company in the country; constant liaison and coordination with internal, external resources throughout the country as well as taking lead with third party negotiations
  • Infuse avant-garde ideas and approaches in promoting the brand presence in China
  • Oversee daily operational management

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Past experience in managing prime international brand and a track record in localizing global strategy within the country
  • Business savvy, with the ability to target and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously with an eye towards cost, business opportunities and strategic value; and to turn business strategies into successful executions
  • Track record in running a business nationally in particular through direct retail and online channels
  • Conversant in business, market competition, legal and regulatory forces, and needs and challenges of customers
  • Dynamic individual, polished, professional and extremely organized
  • High level of energy and drive, able to inspire and lead
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communications and negotiating skills; with the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin with excellent versatile writing skills
  • Bachelor degree or above
  • 10 – 12 years experience in business development, sales or strategic planning with a proven track record
  • Willingness and the ability to travel
